@ Language Department:

Generic Spanish translator, dedicated arbitrator for all regions.

UNIVERSITY: Nuria Yagüe was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, and has been translating for 68º Parallel Communications’ Language Department since 1996.

Her cultural sensitivities to the idiomatic differences of Spain and Latin American plus her rich academic vocabulary blends into a perfectly reliable and generic Spanish translation, easily understood by Spanish speakers in both continents. This unique talent quickly ascended her to quality control editor for all of our Spanish language projects. In the medical field, she assisted in the translation and quality control of two World Health Organization projects to fight tuberculosis in developing countries, one of which won a video award last year for overall excellence.

She’s also shown great care for her intended audience when tasked to translate a Domestic Violence Law project for non-English speaking women residents of Alameda County in California. See attached letter.

As a clinical psychologist she can stand on her own, making one guest appearance in the popular Spanish TV talk show El y Ella back in 1996 and then asked to come back and work behind-the-scenes developing community and social themes for upcoming shows and segments.

While in Spain, she worked for the Catalonian government center from 1991 to 1994, specializing in personal motivation and improvement through oratory techniques and Transactional Analysis. She also taught job search techniques and skill improvement courses for the unemployed.

Her educational background is the following:

1985–1990 - Universidad Central - Barcelona, SPAIN

Licenciada en Psicología. Especialidad: Clínica - BA, Clinical Pyschology

1990–1991 - Centro de Estudios Jurídicos - Barcelona, SPAIN
